This morning we headed north up the A1 from Paris. We visited the Armistice site in the forest at Compiegne. This is the site where the Armistice was signed on 11 Nov 1918.
In the afternoon we travelled to the Historial Museum in Peronne where we were welcomed by our old friend Dominique Frere. After an introduction to the new layout of exhibits and a briefing on the causes of the war and the start of the Western Front, we toured the museum and Peronne township.
