A day of travelling, today.
A short drive to Lille in France, and we commenced the process to join the Eurostar. Quite convoluted, similar to joining an international flight but a bit different. Nothing like joining a conventional train, and no help to get heavy bags on board or high in small racks.
Then there was the train journey, smooth, a tunnel that at 230 km/h did not seem long with the view simply changing from the French to English countryside. The service for lunch with a wide table and larger tray was better that you could find on an aircraft. Leaving the train was again convoluted.
On to our hotel, well appointed and well placed even if the wifi was expensive.
Evening meal in a local restaurant was rather special.
