On Tour - Greece and Crete ANZAC Day in Athens 2011 - 8 May 2011

The photos depict a party we had at the hotel for the last night together before we lost our Greek guide Elena. It was an excellent night of dancing and did not end till midnight.

Today we visited Knossos Palace which was the home of the Minoans from 1900 BC to. 1400 BC. Excellent discussion was led by Elena as she is doing work on that civilisation via Durham University you can only imagine the info that was passed on to us.

Following that we found the location where Major General Kriep was kidnapped by the Cretins supported by SOE. Then after lunch in Heraklion, we went to the Charlies and from the hill where the church is located, we were able to layout the units discussed the special defence of the area.

We then headed back to Rethymon for dinner and packing for tomorrow we fly back to Athens and beyond.
