On Tour - RAAF in the UK 5 July 2010

This was the day for the enthusiasts. RAF Cosford was visited in the morning and all had an excellent time viewing this collection. Many many aircraft are displayed here from experimental jets of the 60's to all those aircraft in use in the Cold War.

As well as the general viewing, we were taken to the conservation area where at present they are doing up a Wellington and a Fairy Battle, photographs of which appear here. The work by the volunteers and staff is establishing a wonderful product for the future and for future generations to view.

Graham and Alan had to drag a lot of our people away as they were completely enthralled in what they saw. After coercing our people onto the coach we headed north towards York. We arrived at York, settled into our hotel, 100 metres from the wall of the old town, and then all headed into the walled city to view the Shambles and other points of interest including the York Minster and the Boer War Memorial.

Tomorrow Elvington.
