Our tour over and awards won, we had quite a trip pack to Istanbul for airport and accommodation drop-offs. We ran into the kind of traffic only an advanced city of 17 Million can generate and found out what can happen when drop-off to an obscure hotel is required. This was a great tour group of new-found friends who really appreciated the experience of seeing where their forebears made such great and futile sacrifices so long ago. And who themselves proved capable of great deeds in swimming the Dardanelles, a waterway steeped in history and very choppy on the day.
