Swim the Dardanelles - Our Tour Members Clean up
This was the day of the Dardanelles Swim. A wind arose from nowhere, and for only one day, making conditions difficult.
Nonetheless, our tourists prevailed. Don Borland came second overall, Jack Kingsley third, many were highly placed in their age groups including Robert Kingsley, Colin Murphy, Thomas Veron, John Barratt, Kevin Jackson, Anthony Jeffcott, Emma Jeffcott, George Webster came second in the 65 - 70 group, and veteran Olympian Murray Rose won the 71+ group.
Many of the sponsored surf club tour members also participated in the swim and acquitted themselves well including Chantelle Cowlrick, the first woman. All finished the gruelling 4.5 km course in difficult conditions.
The day concluded with a certificate presentation and barbeque.
