Today we visited the Messine Ridge battle, Ploegsreet Wood area, there is a photo of our people at the Irish Peace Tower an d gathered around the cross at the spot of the Christmas truce of 1914.
We also went to Polygon Wood and then they had free time in Ieper before our official night at the Menin Gate where 4 of our party laid the only Wreath and I was able to obtain, Ross Konowalenko was able to recite the Ode.
Such a rapport had been built within this tour that the group attending the Medical Conference in Bruges hired a car and came down to Ieper to support our group at the Menin Gate.
