On Tour - Boer War 110th Anniversary Tour - 26 May 2012

We are now gathered in Tshwane (Pretoria) for this inaugural tour of the areas where our men served in the Second Boer War 1899 - 1902. The tour will visit most of the areas where the Australians fought, and we are most fortunate to have with us many who had family serving there. I am sure that we will have many memorable and moving moments as we walk the ground of the battles and pay our respects at quite a few cemeteries where our men are interred.

While we were gathering our group, John Howells and I went to some of the sites in Pretoria our group will visit such as Melrose House where the Armistice was signed in 1902, The Union (original Parliament) Building, Church Square and Burger's Park.

Prior to our evening meal, we gathered and John and I fully briefed our party to set in place the programme of the tour.
