On Tour - Boer War 110th Anniversary Tour Extension - 13 June 2012

Another amazing day. We rose pre-dawn to leave our campsite at 06:00. The sky was crystal clear, first you could see a panoply of stars, then the moon against a deep blue background. The sun rose as we headed down the road. A giraffe and a troop of baboons was the first wildlife we spotted; the baboons were very noisy, it appeared the old man was teaching a youngster a lesson, very social; the babies were beguiling.

Heading on we saw zebras, wildebeest, gnu, antelope, buffalo, hippopotami and a variety of bird life. The birds joined us for breakfast. The highlights were sighting of two lions lazing in the sun, and a rhinoceros, not far from our evening camp.

Another high standard bure for the night and a great restaurant meal. Tomorrow we head out of the park and back to Johannesburg Airport where our tour ends.
