Polygon Wood and Passchendaele Centenary Tour 2 October 2017
An interesting day. First a drive down the highway to the Glade of the Armistice where we discussed the history of the site and the two documents signed there. The German Armistice of 1918 and the French Surrender of 1941. The Museum and Monuments were very impressive.
Then a break from things military, a visit to the beautiful cathedral city and a chance for some local cuisine.
Late back followed by an early night for tomorrow we follow the battles where the Australian Corps under General Monash spearheaded the Allied advance to victory August to October 1918.
