Sadly, today is the end of Tour No. 2 Flanders. This will be the last report for that tour.
It was a busy, but interesting day. We visited the battlefield site where the Australians troops fought in the Battle of Messines. Also, the sites where Australian troops were involved in the Third Battle of Ypres (Battle of Passchendaele). Battle sites visited were:
• Battle of Messines
• Battle of Menin Road
• Battle of Hill 60
• Battle of Polygon Wood
• Battle of Passchendaele.
The tour also had time to visit the Hooge Crater and the Tyne Cot Cemetery.
Tonight, will be the last opportunity to attend the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate.
We will also have farewell drinks to celebrate a successful tour and say our goodbye, as some tour members are departing early in the morning.
