A very impressive if hot day.
We headed out at the reasonable hour of 0900 and made toward the new Fromelles cemetery, site of the centenary commemoration.
Our Band gave a great performance for travellers waiting to enter the controlled space.
The memorial service was very special. A picturesque venue against a deep blue sky at a temperature reminiscent of home. The story of Fromelles, told on large video screens was poignant and accurate. The military ceremonial flawless, the ceremony involving young descendants uncovering the newly marked graves was very moving.
A bit of an administrative difficulty in leaving the site. It was great to get into the air conditioned coach.
