A beautiful sunny day as those who joined the tour in Paris headed north. On our way to pick up the Brussels group, we stopped at the Forest of Compiegne where the Armistice was signed in 1918. Some of our group visited the Museum.
Then on to pick up those joining the tour in Brussels. A long trip, with time to hear about the build-up to the war and how it flowed so that the sites could be put into perspective.
With all on board we headed toward Ieper and after an excellent repast for tea, we witnessed the historic Menin Gate Ceremony.
