On Tour - ANZAC Landings Centenary Tour 25 April 2015

This morning's Dawn Service conducted by Military History Tours at Gallipoli Village featured a re-enactment landing by Australian and New Zealand surf-boat crews. Music was by the Barker College orchestra and choir, along with pipers from Scots College Sydney displaying a quality most present had not experienced at another service.

The Dawn Service concluded with a wreath-laying in the water by two Australian and one New Zealand boat to mark the loss of three local students in a swimming accident in Spain.

Afterwards some direct descendants took part in a wreath laying ceremony at the town's war memorial, and Graham Fleeton presented the proceeds from the sales of crocheted memorial poppies to the Mayor of Gelibolu for the local school.

Sadly those who attended the official service were delayed in their return to the ship.

We all look forward to the grand ball tomorrow.
