Today was our break from the battlefields and the sun shone. Most of the tour group visited Brugge and browsed the town. The old buildings were a sight to behold as were the canals and local birdlife. A couple of adventurous souls climbed the Belfry of Bruges tower, 83 metres, 366 steps, others hired a horse and carriage. Almost all returned with a bag of special chocolates.
While the rest of us were in Brugge, Don Shearman and John Lee found and recorded a tribute to the ancestor of one of our Tour 1 guests who did not make it this far north.
Later in the evening, we witnessed ceremony at Menin Gate. And saw a computer (video) savvy dog at our hotel.
