These pages allow you to follow or re-visit past tours led by or where members of the Battlefield History Tours team were historians, on behalf of Military History Tours. Tours listed are from 2012 until the present day. The "Special Western Front to Normandy" tour 2017 took us to the battlefields where Australian's fought in France and Belgium in World War 1, then on to the beaches where the Allies landed to drive the Germans out of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Holland in 1944. The "UK History & Heritage Railway" tour 2017 took us to experience a past steeped in heritage from the industrial revolution 'till mid last century when steam railways reigned supreme in the UK. The "Guadalcanal Battlefields" tour 2017 took us to the place where 75 years ago so many United States servicemen along with Solomon Islanders, Australians and New Zealanders paid the ultimate price to secure our Australian homeland. The "Bomber Command (RAAF in the UK)" tour 2017 where we yet again successfully toured airfields and air force museums in the United Kingdom from where Australian airmen flew during World War II. The "ANZAC Day in Athens - Greece and Crete - April 2017" on this tour, our tour group for the fourth time took part in the ANZAC Dawn Service in Athens to mark the 76th anniversary of the campaign where many Australian soldiers made the supreme sacrafice in a failed effort to save Greece from NAZI occupation. This tour, as with all of our Greek visits allowed participants to again see the locations of gallant actions past and experience the boundless hospitality of the Greek people. The "Vietnam Tunnel Rats and Sappers' Tour August 2016" This tour hosted by Colonel Alex (Sandy) MacGregor MC (Ret’d), took our tour group to where these latter-day ANZACS gave their lives when their country called and comemmorated the 50th Anniversary of the battle of Long Tan. The "Bomber Command (RAAF in the UK)" tour 2016 where we yet again successfully toured airfields and air force museums in the United Kingdom from where Australian airmen flew during World War II. The "Boer War 114th Anniversary Tour" On this tour, we again traced the footsteps of our forefathers who were in combat when our nation was formed over 100 years ago. Some of the tour group took an extension that covered the Krueger Game reserve with Touch African Safaris. The extension tour is included in the tour archive. A feature of the tour was Ron Clark, a 90 year old WW2 veteran who honoured his father and uncle both of whom fought in South Africa, then got to sight three lions and two cheetahs in the Kruger Park.
